Will Ferrell was just on - I think he's great, but we recently rented "Anchorman," and I didn't think it was that funny. Anyway, I just joined the Chicago Blog Ring, and stumbled upon this great site. You can view trends in baby names throughout the century. For example, "Melissa" was most popular in the 1970s (go figure), and has steadily dropped off in popularity ever since. Very cool...thanks to Fueled By Coffee for the link.|W|P|110955037928904565|W|P|Waiting for Oscar|W|P|2/24/2005 10:38:00 PM|W|P|Melissa|W|P|This is photo from our campsite in the Freycinet peninsula of Tasmania. We had an incredible time in Australia...pictures to come soon I promise! Drank lots of tasty wine, ate a ton, and saw kangaroos and wallabies! I guess they are like squirrels in Australia, but I never got tired of seeing them. Our trip from Sydney to Melbourne was beautiful, and I finally got to see Wollongong, where Doug studied during college. Australians are very progressive and conservation-minded, which was really refreshing. So many of the beaches and parks we visited were virtually unspoiled. There just aren't enough people in Australia to populate every beach.
Some male fashion trends I noticed on our trip:
1. Fauxhawks are very big with Australian men.
2. Even better if you're wearing a tight-fitting polo with a logo or brand name printed on the underside of the collar, collar turned up of course.
3. Complete the look with a pair of white loafers or tennis shoes.
I'm working on getting photo albums posted...stay tuned. Cheers!|W|P|110926689727435008|W|P|Return from Down Under|W|P|2/28/2005 10:42:00 AM|W|P|nico|W|P|mel-there r some similar trends in terms of fashion down here in chile/argentina that might be of interest.
1.if u r a 15-25 yr old male, u r not "in" unles u have a psuedo-mullet. in comparison to the american specie, it is more bushy and voluminous in the back w/ the option of bangs or no bangs. there is something deep down that is telling me, go for it. dont be suprised on my return if i am sporting it.
2) green poc-a-dot skirts and dresses. the "minas" die for this ensamble.
3)also rat tails r the craze. but a tad-different from the american type. usually it is placed on the side behind the ear or higher and not centered at the end of the neck or by those sad individuals in the states. big with hippies here.3/04/2005 01:09:00 PM|W|P|2/05/2005 10:42:00 AM|W|P|Melissa|W|P|Just testing photo posting...This is where we will be staying for part of our visit to Tasmania.

Dad2/03/2005 11:40:00 AM|W|P|Melissa|W|P|It was my twin sister's and my birthday on Tuesday, and we went to Lovitt restaurant for dinner. Has anyone tried this place yet? It's a cute BYOB place on Ashland run by a husband and wife. I had gnocchi with shrimp and prosciutto, and it was great. Got some fun jewelry and a cute red purse from my sis that she bought at SheBang on Damen (my fave).
Thankfully I missed the State of the Union address last night...I couldn't bare to hear how we will be "spreading freedom" to the world repeated a billion times. Forgot that Project Runway was on last night, but I caught the last 15 minutes. Too bad Robert was kicked off...when is Wendy going to get hers, eh??
